York residents speak out on plans to privatize city wastewater treatment plant

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — People living in York are speaking out on Thursday over a plan to privatize the city’s wastewater treatment plant. Council members voted last month to close a budget gap and avoid a big tax increase, by selling the plant to Pennsylvania-American Water Company for nearly $250 million. The company promised to upgrade the facility and hold rates flat for three years. Gov. Wolf calls on Pa. Legislature to allocate funding for small businesses

Pa. Republicans announce House Recovery Task Force to assist businesses impacted by pandemic

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — On Tuesday state House Republicans talked economic recovery. They announced the creation of the House Recovery task force. The task force will focus on the devestation the pandemic has caused for many businesses in Pennsylvania. "We can help small businesses, we can help grow industries come to Pennsylvania with thoughtful policy and the right approach," said Rep. Wendi Thomas (R-Bucks). "In the end, this task force will create a roadmap to help our businesses stand strong and truly become the envy of the East."
