Stimulus update: Pelosi, Mnuchin ‘narrow differences’ ahead of House speaker’s Tuesday deadline

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Hours after stocks fell amid pessimism over the outlook for a stimulus deal, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff tweeted that there may be room for optimism. "The Speaker and Secretary Mnuchin spoke at 3:00 p.m. today for approximately 53 minutes," Drew Hammill tweeted. "In this call, they continued to narrow their differences." Hammill added that the California Democrat has "tasked committee chairs to reconcile difference with their GOP counterparts on key areas," but did not specify what those areas were. CVS hiring several thousand work-from-home employees among 15,000 openings

DALLAS (NEXSTAR) — U.S. pharmacy chain CVS plans to hire 15,000 workers over the next few months, including thousands of work-from-home jobs, as the flu season arrives and we wait on an anticipated COVID-19 vaccine. According to a news release, more than 10,000 of the positions will be based in its pharmacy locations and could potential help distribute novel coronavirus tests and vaccines. Looking for work? SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Calls and video chats have helped many stay connected in recent months, but there’s nothing quite like seeing your best friend face-to-face. Iesha Stephens says her son Legend and his buddy Caius have been inseparable since they were 5 months old. 13 horses killed in crash on Missouri highway

WASHINGTON, Mo. (KTVI) – A tractor trailer carrying 29 horses flipped on a Missouri highway Sunday night. Thirteen of the horses died or had to be euthanized. The accident happened on I-44 in Franklin County just west of the Washington exit around 8:15 pm. The Boles Fire Department, Missouri Highway Patrol, the MERS Large Animal Rescue, Homestead Veterinary Service’s and the Missouri Humane Society were called out to assist with the rescue. The Missouri Highway Patrol is still working on its crash report but it appears the tractor-trailer flipped into the median. (Nexstar) – John McClane isn’t crashing Christmas parties in Nakatomi Plaza anymore. The iconic Die Hard character now apparently deals with car trouble late at night in abandoned constructions sites. That’s the setup for a new two-minute advertisement featuring Bruce Willis reprising his role from the 1988 blockbuster "Die Hard."
